CNA Training in Maine (ME)

There has been a steady growth of the requirement of nursing staff in the health industry and therefore many people feel that nursing is a recession-proof profession. CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) are needed in increasing numbers as hospitals are recruiting less of doctors and registered nurses with the intention of cutting costs. CNA training is available all over the country but has to be approved individually by each state. Programs of CNA training in Maine have to be approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing.

As per federal law all CNA training programs should be for a minimum of 75 hours but state approved CNA training in Maine has to be for a minimum of 150 hours. This is divided into classroom training and also practical hands-on training in a clinical setting. After completing the training the candidate has to clear the exam for CNA certification in ME, after which he is eligible to pursue his profession in the state. State approved CNA training in ME will cost upwards of $450 and will cover tuition fees, books, supplies and exam fees.

The cost of CNA training in ME will be reimbursed by the state if the candidate gets employed as a CNA within a year of successfully clearing the certification exam. There are also certain programs with give free CNA training in ME and the candidate is required to work for a certain period in that institution after clearing the certification exam.
