A CNA Nursing Assistant is a professional who provides direct routine care to a patient. These professionals are now in great demand and their requirement is projected to grow in the coming decade. CNA training programs are offered by all the states and need the approval of the particular state the are applying for licensure in. Programs offering CNA training in Montana need the approval of Montana State Survey and Certification Agency, and should have a minimum of 75 hours of training.
After a candidate has completed a state approved training program, he has to pass the SCEP (State Competency Evaluation Program) to get CNA certification in Montana. The SCEP exam is directed by Headmaster LLP in the approved centers in the state. The SCEP has written as well as practical components. The candidate has to get at least 75% of his answers right in the written or oral exam and must be 80% correct in the skill test to pass the SCEP. Upon successfully clearing the SCEP the candidate’s name will appear in the Montana Nurse Aide Registry and becomes eligible to practice his profession in the state.
Approved programs of CNA training in MT are required to allot at least 50 hours to classroom training and the remaining 25 hours to practical hands-on clinical training. The clinical practical training should be supervised and conducted by a licensed instructor who is a registered nurse. The candidate learns topics like patient rights, emergency procedures, basic skills of nursing, CPR training and so on.
